The Secret Garden

Forge Exhibition-  The Secret Garden - London Craft Week

I am pleased to be exhibiting at The Forge Space as part of London Craft Week 2026, alongside a group of contemporary makers and jewellers.

There's something quietly fitting about showing work from my Woven Memory collection at an exhibition called The Secret Garden.

The collection grew out of a lifelong love of lace — one that began long before I became a jeweller. After more than forty years working in fashion, texture has always been my language. But my true fascination with lace began when my father moved to Belgium. I lived there for a while and visited often, and I would find myself wandering the old streets near the centre of Brussels, drawn into the workshops of the dentellières — the lacemakers — watching them work with a quiet dedication that stopped me in my tracks. Like Penelope at her loom, endlessly, beautifully weaving. I've never forgotten it.

The pieces I showed at The Forge Space are all made by hand using the lost wax technique — pressing vintage lace, floral fabrics and trims directly into the metal to capture every delicate thread and pattern before they're cast forever in recycled silver. The Secret Garden theme felt like home. So much of my lace is floral, and there's something about preserving something fragile and botanical in metal that feels like tending a garden of your own.

It was a privilege to be part of London Craft Week 2026 alongside such talented makers. You can find my full maker profile on the London Craft Week website.
